Participants work in a school as the paid teacher-of-record. This model is ideal for participants who learn best through experience.
ONE-ON-ONE MENTORING
Participants in the ULC certification programs receive one-on-one support from a highly qualified mentor who provides formative feedback, “coaches into practice,” while modeling effective teaching strategies that work best with diverse populations of students.

Certification programs range in length from 6–18 mos.

Programs lead to a Wisconsin teaching license through DPI, with the focus on being able to effectively teach students living in urban areas. Gain and apply knowledge of the urban context to teaching and implementing research-proven practices.
