ULC ANNUAL REPORT
Executive Director’s Address:
Dear Friends,
This was a fantastic year of growth and new partnerships for the Milwaukee Teacher Education Center, and we remain dedicated to continuous improvement.
Our goal is to invest in urban communities by expanding access to academic, personal, and professional growth opportunities and with your support, we are well on our way. This past year yielded many encouraging developments including innovative academic programming with the Learn with MTEC Winter Symposium, focused on Trauma Sensitive Practices, unprecedented student outcomes for the scholars of the Milwaukee Environmental Sciences Academy, a MTEC Charter School and improved financial growth.
We have seen a significant increase in the enrollment of our charter school and professional learning programs and with added opportunities, we are confident that this trend will continue over the coming years. My vision is to host increased enrollment figures across our teacher certification program, professional learning services and school. We have implemented new systems to further increase retention and program completion rates, and I am confident that our plans to address the overall diversification of programming will have a tremendous impact as well. I believe we are able to provide an experience for our teacher certification students and MESA students and families that is like none-other and with this being the case, we must address the ever changing face of education, overall family needs, and supporting alumni as they remain in the field of education.
Sincerely,
Laci Coppins Robbins, Ed.D.

My ULC Story
Emily Futter
“ULC is really unique because it allowed me to keep the job that I had, work at that job, and obtain my licensure, while pursuing a graduate degree – the masters was optional to continue at Mount Mary. I really did my homework and I found ULC was the best option for me.
My mentor and my assessor made it clear that I could always contact them, call them with any questions. They definitely set the bar high but made sure that I had the support to reach it. The support was endlessly positive, never critical, my mentor was always giving great feedback–that is really what helps you transition.”

The community we serve remains our top priority and with your support and our many partnerships, we can provide an unparalleled experience. The stories of our scholars from MESA never cease to amaze, and every day reminds me that we are shaping the future of our country, as well as the ULC alumni as the next generation of education leaders. I believe that more exciting news is right around the corner, please know that none of this would be possible without your support.
