If you’re a Wisconsin educator impacted by the new Reading and Language Arts Statutory License Stipulation under Act 20, you’re not alone— Urban Learning Collaborative (ULC) is here to help!
In response to the updated legislative requirements outlined in Wisconsin’s Act 20, ULC is proud to offer a new, graduate-level course, designed specifically to help educators meet the state’s licensing requirements—quickly, affordably, and with real impact in the classroom.
What Is the Reading & Language Arts Stipulation?
Under Wisconsin’s Act 20, all educators seeking a license that will allow them to provide reading instruction to students in PK–3 settings, must demonstrate competency in the science of reading and evidence-based literacy instruction. This includes the use of phonics and structured literacy approaches in both universal and intervention settings. Additionally, individuals who demonstrate these skills may also serve as literacy coaches for grades PK through 12.
For many teachers, this stipulation has added urgency to find high-quality training that aligns with their teaching schedules, personal lives, and professional goals. That’s where ULC comes in.
